Overview
Dokkar is built to run entirely on your device. It keeps a record of your date palms, the pollen you use, and the bunches you harvest, without an account, without a server, and without sending your grove's records anywhere. This page explains exactly what the app touches on your device and why.
What Dokkar does not do
- It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any information about you or your grove.
- It has no account, no sign-in, and no server component.
- It contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software development kits.
- It does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Information stored on your device
Everything you enter — palms, rows, varieties, opened spathes, pollination records, pollen batches, thinning and bagging dates, ripening stages, and harvest weights — is written to a local database kept in the app's own storage area on your iPhone or iPad. This information never leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself, for example by using the system share sheet to export a season summary image.
Camera
If you choose to photograph one of your palms from the palm card screen, Dokkar asks for permission to use the camera at that moment. The photo you take is saved only in the app's own storage on your device and attached to that palm's record. Dokkar does not access the camera at any other time.
Photo library
If you choose to attach an existing picture to a palm card instead of taking a new one, Dokkar opens the system photo picker. This picker runs outside the app and only hands back the single picture you select — Dokkar never browses or reads the rest of your photo library.
Notifications
Dokkar can remind you each morning which opened spathes still need pollen. These reminders are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system. Nothing about your grove is sent to a server to generate or deliver them. Dokkar asks for notification permission only when you turn this reminder on.
Data retention and deletion
Your grove's records remain on your device for as long as the app is installed, or until you erase them yourself from Settings. Deleting the app removes all of its data. Because nothing is copied to a server, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.
Children's privacy
Dokkar does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for instance if a future version of Dokkar adds a feature that touches data differently — the updated policy will be published at this same address before that version is released.
